Yuva Sakath 2022
Indian Catholic Youth Movement (ICYM) Surathkal Parish Unit I, n collaboration with Youth Commission of the Parish organized "Yuva Sakath 2022 "(youth power 2022), one day program for the parish Youth, on 3 July 2022 at the Church Hall. After the Holy Eucharist, Very Rev Fr Austin Peter Peres, the Parish Priest, along with Fr Richard D Souza, Mr Russel Roche, Vice President of PPC, Mr Norbert Misquith, the Secretary and Convener Youth Commission, Mr Bernard D Souza, the Coordinator of Parish Pastoral Commissions, Ms Teena Rebello the Animator of ICYM, Mr Oswin D Souza, the President ICYM and Ms Melish D Souza the Secretary ICYM, inaugurated the programme by unveiling the logo of the program. In his presidential address, V. Rev Fr Austine, appreciated the hard work of youth in organizing the event.
He also made a note of the involvement of youth in the parish activities. He explained the ABCD of Development process and blessed and wished well for the program. Fr Richard D Souza gave the input on Impact of social media and internet on youth and the ways to use media with responsibility. He also helped the youth to use their cell phones with proper security checks. ICYM Central Council President Mr Jaison Crasta conducted games. Mr. Norbert Misquith led the ice breaking session. ICYM members of the unit entertained the participants with games and action songs. Winners were awarded with prizes at end. Mr Oswin the president of ICYM, welcomed the gathering, Ms Melisha, the Secretary proposed the vote of thanks, Ms Clarin compeered the program, the unit members led the prayer. The program was concluded with lunch. 96 youth of the parish took active part in the program.
